Delta Electricity contracted Alstom in July 2007 to build a 660 MW simple cycle gas turbine power plant in Colongra, Australia to meet the country's growing power needs. Alstom's scope included designing, supplying, installing and commissioning the entire plant, which uses four of Alstom's efficient GT13E2 gas turbines. The plant will provide flexible peaking power to complement Delta Electricity's existing coal-fired plants and meet peak demand periods.
