The college fair will provide high school seniors opportunities to learn about various colleges from representatives at each college's information booth. Seniors should research colleges of interest ahead of time and come prepared with questions. Attending allows students to expand their knowledge about different college options and learn more directly from college reps than just websites. College fairs are important for students to gain diversity of information about their postsecondary education choices.

2. East Carolina
University (ECU)
★ The Colors: In 1909, purple and
gold won the vote because of its
Eastern North Carolina sunsets.
★ Since 1907, ECU has been on
the map for one of the national
universities.
★ The Mascot came from the
university being so close to the
coast.
★ The Canon is a representation
of the beginning of a battle of
the beginning of every football
game.
★ It has a great nursing program
and freshman can have a car
during their first year.

3. Ohio State University
● The Ohio State Marching Band has been a great showing of Buckeye
pride throughout the years. The Ohio State Marching Band is also
known as ‘The Best Damn Band In The Land.’
● “Buckeye Battle Cry” became the fight song for OSU in 1919 and has
been a traditional song ever since.
● The ‘O-H! I-O!’ chant is chanted at every football game and other
exciting, major events to show OSU pride.
● A ceremonial tradition that dates back all the way to 1934, one
Buckeye tree is planted at the southwest corner of Ohio Stadium for
each All-American the previous season. This is done every year
before the spring game.
● Putting Buckeye Leaves on the Ohio State football helmets has been

4. Vance Granville Community College
● Vance-Granville Community College is responsible for providing educational opportunity for
the residents of Vance, Granville, Franklin and Warren counties
● The majority of classes are taught on Main Campus between Henderson and Oxford, but a
number of students attend classes also at South Campus between Butner and Creedmoor,
Franklin Campus in Louisburg, and Warren Campus in Warrenton.
