What is a Behaviour?
“The way in which one acts or conducts
oneself, especially towards others.”
The College Behaviours are a set of
behaviours that everyone in the
college should strive to follow.
Why do we have our own set?
City of Glasgow College has developed
behaviours directly linked to the values of
consulted staff and students which help
achieve a single, one-team culture.
On the right is one of the focus
groups held with staff and
students around what the
College Behaviours
should include.

One set of principles to follow brings with it
many benefits to the staff and students…
• It encourages everyone
to achieve their full
potential
• It outlines how we should
treat others and how we
should expect to be
treated
• It promotes equality,
fairness and the
breaking down of
barriers
• It allows a safer and
more supportive work
environment

these College Values!
Behaviours and You!
Everyone at City is responsible for their
behaviour and are expected to adopt the
College’s values and related behaviours. It’s
important these are embedded into the daily
working lives of staff and students whilst they
work together to support the students on their
learner journey.

in your own studies.
