Community, Unifying the Geeks to Create Value - Demi Ben-AriDemi Ben-Ari
After running developer communities over the past 3 years, meeting a lot of great people and learning a lot of things about the Israeli Hi-Tech ecosystem,
I’ll share all that I’ve learned about what it actually means to create what is called a “Community”.
The value that you as a community lead can give to the people in it and the things that you can gain as a geek out of it.
You’ll be surprised to learn how easy and hard it can be at the same time.
I’ll tell about the steps that I’ve taken in this journey, what in my opinion might kill the concept of “Developer Community”,
by the end of the talk you'll have as many tools as possible for you to be able to create a community of your own.

In an era of rapid technological change, it can be difficult to keep up. Enter our speakers, three library professionals who engage with technology in multiple roles as instructors, programmers, and library administrators. This presentation will highlight key technologies and trends, considering them from a library perspective. By exploring the tech landscape together, we can move our organizations to a proactive, rather than reactive posture.
The way people experience the web will see dramatic change in response to new tools, expectations and constraints in the coming years. This session will highlight some major forces shaping our medium and lead us in thinking about how we should expect to evolve what we deliver in light of changes in hardware, mobile, wearable, data, and software among others. We will look to parallels in architecture, aircraft and other technologies and suggest future trends that will evolve.
Attendees will gain a better understanding of the changing nature of our environment and the impact of all of these forces. Attendees will leave ready to make their own decisions about how best to embrace these forces in their own work.
Attention Parents, Educators, College Students and Community Members!
Computer Science Education Week is December 4 – 10 and we need your help to get more kids into the tech field!
Computers are everywhere, changing every industry on the planet. But only 1 in 4 schools teach computer science and our pipeline of new, educated computer programmers is dwindling. Good news is, we’re on our way to change this. If you’ve heard about the Hour of Code before, you might know it made history. More than 100 million students have tried an Hour of Code to kick-start their education into Computer Science.
Introduction to the new Tensorflow 2.x and the Coral AI Edge TPU hardware. The presentation introduces Tensorflow main features such as Sequential and Functional APIs, mobile support with Tensorflow Lite, web support with TensorflowJS and Google Cloud support with TFX.
In addition, the presentation introduces the new edge TPU architecture coming from Coral AI, including its main hardware features and description of the compiling flow.

Study groups, hand-ons sessions and other long lasting training formats require support for onboard participants, reducing no-show ratio, increase finalization of the activities and ideally provide personalize support according the individuals needs of each participants.
Aiming to solve some of these challenges with Cloud Study Jam in Europe, Google Classroom has shown interesting results at in-person and online version. Besides training session, alternatives uses for certification preparation or even feedback requests sessions might be interesting to explore. Terms & Conditions allow to scale through community organizers and Classroom APIs might offer interesting opportunities for reporting activities, not just about the organizers but also of the communities members.
The session will present the main result of this pilot, and some ideas to explore next steps in using Google Classroom.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
