In 2019, cold exposure resulted in 240 worker injuries and 6 fatalities. Learn more on the risk and see the industry's most innovative solutions to mitigate it.
Cold stress injuries such as hypothermia, frostbite and overexertion account for over 200 injuries and a handful of fatalities each year. In only 5 minutes (or less), you can educate yourself on cold stress and learn what solutions you can implement today to keep workers safe and healthy.
Heat stress can seriously endanger horses. It is caused by factors like hot weather, dehydration, intense exercise, and poor conditioning. Signs of heat stress in horses include sluggishness, high rectal temperature, and rapid breathing. If a horse shows signs of heat stress, owners should stop exercise, relocate the horse to a shady cool area, offer water, and use cooling techniques like hosing or scraping water on the horse until its temperature lowers. To prevent heat stress, owners should keep horses well hydrated, monitor for overexertion, and limit strenuous activity in hot weather.

This document contains descriptions of several organic hair and body products from Anti3 Protect Series, including an organic hair and body wash made from natural ingredients, a disinfectant spray for cleaning equipment, a 1-gallon sprayer for disinfecting large surfaces like mats and floors, and a foaming dry wash sanitizer for cleaning skin after workouts or games. It concludes by providing the company's contact information.
Mustard gas was first used by Germany in 1917 and was an effective weapon during World War I. It was hard to detect, easily delivered via bombs and artillery shells, and could pass through masks and clothing. Mustard gas, or blister agents, caused wounds resembling burns or blisters that damaged the eyes, lungs, and internal organs. Treatment for exposure focused on decontamination through removal of clothing and flushing areas of contact, with supportive care for symptoms that were usually delayed but could include blindness, blistering, and respiratory complications. While not intended as a killing agent, high doses could prove fatal, making it an effective means to harass and disable enemy forces.
The document discusses how cold temperatures can negatively impact operator performance and safety in vehicle cabs. Cold temperatures can cause loss of feeling, stiffness, and reduced grip strength in hands and fingers. It can also lead to hypothermia. To address this, vehicle cabs need to be designed to maintain warm temperatures, control airflow and humidity, and provide features like heated seats, steering wheels, and windows. The cab and external areas also need space for bulky cold weather gear and to prevent snow and ice accumulation on walkways and controls. An effective heating system is important but not enough - the full operating environment needs consideration to ensure operator comfort, health and productivity in cold conditions.
This document provides guidance on keeping staff safe during winter weather. It covers regulations regarding workplace temperatures and conditions. Employers should assess risks posed by cold weather, such as hypothermia and frostbite. Layers of appropriate clothing, breaks in heated areas, and prevention of slips are recommended. Regular breaks, access to warm drinks, and training workers to recognize symptoms of overexposure can help keep staff safe in winter.
The document discusses workplace safety and focuses on four areas of personal protective equipment: head protection, hand protection, face protection, and foot protection. Each section provides information on the proper protective gear for different job tasks and hazards, how to use the equipment correctly, and tips for inspection and care. The overall message is that wearing the right protective equipment is essential for safety on the job.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
8 Surprising Reasons To Meditate 40 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life.pptxHolistified Wellness
