2. Channel 4 guide
After doing a Google search, I found an outline of how to create a print ad from
Channel 4.
From this I knew that there was 4 key elements to
a Channel 4 print ad; colour, typography, imagery and
tone. These are all needed to create a narrative for
the audience who will see the print ad.
People recognise Channel 4 by their logo, which unlike
others – they are placed in the right centre of print
ads.
3. One main image is usually used for Channel 4 print ads – all editing will
happen to the raw material. It will grab the audiences attention by
intriguing them eg. Child being swallowed by the ground.
The colour scheme will be based on whatever stands out
against the main image (focus). The same colour is used for
the cover lines as the logo.
The logo is always
positioned in the
centre right of the
print ad.
The typography used for Channel 4 text is always in the
same font. It is usually positioned at the bottom of the left
corner; it will include the name and a slogan or date and
time.
