This document outlines a project to develop a web tool to generate and access HEDIS data reports dynamically, as the current process of manually creating reports in Excel is inefficient; the new tool would automatically update data monthly and allow users to customize reports based on different criteria to better analyze screening rates for conditions like colorectal cancer. The project scope focuses on building reports for COL, BSP and CSV screening measures using data from the HealthTrack system.

2 High Level Project Description
2.1 Problem Statement
The CIDS department is developing a web tool that will enable HEDIS data and
reports to be generated and accessed on the fly.
1. Users are manually taking HEDIS data and creating their own reports via
excel.
2. Users do not have the dynamic and adhok functions to manipulate data
effectively and efficiently.
Source of Project Requirements
The need for our project stems from the difficulty associated with generating
and displaying HEDIS reports.
1. Right now, a HEDIS report is a static form
2. There are a small number of generic reports to choose from
3. We need more criteria for generating HEDIS reports when needed
4. It is too hard to access multiple reports at once, a very slow process.

3.1 Current State
HEDIS reports are run through CIDS and data is sent to an outside source where
health gap reports are created.
The reports are static forms that only show each month at a time given one
screening.
Users are importing data from the HEDIS reports and are using excel to
manipulate data to fit users needs.
Current HEDIS reports are labeled incorrectly and are hard to read/understand.
3.2 Future State
Users will have an interactive interface will current data.
The system will provide access to any array of months of data whether historical
or current.
User will be able to drill down to data to pull specifc information.
System will display graphs for changing pull down tabs on creative and
interactive dashboard.
3.3 Value &Benefits
The value for looking at the screenings of colorectal Cancer, Breast Cancer and
Cervical Cancer. Saves time and reduces entry errors. User will reduce time
working on creating reports.
