Our approach
Argand Associates is predominantly a headhunting organisation; working on
a contingency basis we target 100-200 relevant contacts per role based on
location/ seniority/ industry/ technical expertise. With a resourcing team of 15,
the group’s back office finance team of 10 and marketing team of 4 to support
our team of 12 vertical market specialist, we focus on mapping our market
and attracting the best talent for our clients/partners.
Using our proactive search methodology, we help organisations attract the
most suitable talent in the market as opposed to being limited to a list of
candidates actively seeking jobs.
We are able to provide a full range of bespoke services including
executive search, contingent search and contract/interim solutions.
Working with operators, national oil companies and service
companies (onshore and offshore assets) our dedicated teams of
discipline focused consultants and researchers enable us to have both up to
the minute global market knowledge and a strong technical

Sourcing methodology
The sourcing strategy applied by Argand Associates, is a replica of our parent
company Oliver James Associates. Applying specialist headhunting
techniques on a contingency basis to ensure clients are introduced to high
caliber professionals which they require for their business.
A candidate search would involve the consultants contacting 200
professionals of the required discipline and geographic location, which would
be reduced to a shortlist of 5 candidates for client’s consideration.
How do we source candidates?
Database search: Argand Associates has over 208,937 global contacts on
our database, with over 3900 active candidates at present.
- From those active candidates 3024 are seeking to work, or are currently
working in the UK and/or Europe.
Proactive headhunting: Our approach enables us to seek out the most high
achieving candidates that are retained by their employers through short-term and
long-term incentive schemes/bonuses, increased responsibilities, promotions etc.
As a result, we are able to introduce the top 10-20 percentile of high performing
candidates, who are largely passive and interested in actively managing their
careers.
Referral: Whilst our headhunting approach means we are actively speaking to
excellent passive candidates, a number of these candidates do not want to move
but will always recommend a colleague or friend of a similar caliber to themselves.
In our parent company this is a methodology that has worked exceedingly well with
satisfied candidates always referring our details on.
