The Intu Trafford Centre, the biggest shopping centre in Manchester North West. The Trafford Centre opened to
the public in 10th September 1998. The centre is right beside Trafford Industrial Park, where lots of companies in Manchester
are situated. The centre holds some popular shops such as Topshop, John Lewis, Victoria’s Secret and more. The centre also
provides a wide selection of restaurants and bars. The food hall can hold over 1600 people, so enough to fill up the show for
the Christmas Light Switch On. The Trafford centre is in Manchester, England and its opening times on week days are 10am
till 10pm, and on Saturdays 10am until 10pm and Sundays 12pm until 6pm. The client has asked for the advert to be
seasonal, but not offensive, using music such as Christmas songs and sound effects. They have also requested the voice over
to be a male, in his late 30’s so the voice sounds deep yet clear. As The Intu Trafford Centre is such a big company, we need
to make this advert 100% accurate so they are satisfied with the outcome. Hopefully this advert will meet their expectations
and the audiences.
The style of this advert will be festive and informative. The advert will include a male voice over to speak
passionately about the upcoming event at the Intu Trafford Centre, which would be the Christmas Light Switch On.
Information such as location, time and date will be included, and also the special guests which will be either performing or
entertaining the audience. The festivity of the advert will be exciting towards the audience, as their will be a Christmas song
called ‘Deck The Halls’ included.
The advert will begin with the Christmas song ‘Deck The Halls’ and will slowly fade to a lower volume, but
will still be playing at a low level. This is so the voiceover can be heard clearly and formally for the audience. The male
voiceover will tell the audience the information about the Christmas Light Switch On and a little bit about the Trafford Cent re
itself. The voiceover will then state the time, location and date of the event, then the music will become louder and the
slowly fade out once again.
The purpose of this advert is so the audience will listen, and really want to attend the Christmas Light Switch
On. It is also so people can here the advert and tell their friends and family about it, encouraging more people to attend th is
event.
When finding music to use for my advert, I will have to ensure it is royalty free or
paid securely. This is to avoid copy right issues. I will also ensure the script is appropriate, not including any inappropri ate or
offensive words and language.
The music I am using will create a happy and exciting atmosphere when it starts to play, as it will remind everyone about
Christmas and that its only around the corner. It will make the audience want to listen to the advert, and memorise the
moments they enjoyed best. I have chosen the song Deck The Halls at it is a well -known Christmas song, One that the
audience can relate to.
