Different leaves have many different features.
Leaves can be categorised based on:
• Shape: heart, oval, elliptic, round, palm
• Size: large to small, wide to narrow, long to short
• Texture: rough to smooth, thick to thin
• Edge: entire, jagged, lobed, wavy
• Colour: red, green, yellow, purple, variegated
• Smell: fragrant and pleasant (basil, bay, celery, curry, mint, pandan,
parsley), unpleasant, no smell
• Vein pattern: net vein pattern, parallel vein pattern
• Leaf structure: single leaves or compound leaves
