About the CCA Condition Report
A Lot’s condition report is compiled based on information provided to CCA by the vendor of
the Lot. CCA has no access to Lots prior to a sale but does review their condition on the day
of the sale. CCA strongly recommends viewing a Lot prior to a sale as it cannot guarantee
the accuracy of the information provided. CCA will not entertain any disputes over vendor
condition reports.

Interested in selling?
Here at Classic Car Auctions (CCA) we
want to make selling your car as easy and
straightforward as possible. By following the
simple step-by-step guide below, you will
be able to submit your vehicle(s) to CCA
for inclusion in a forthcoming auction. Once
submitted, you will receive a confirmation
email and a follow-up phone call from one
of our specialists. Once all the details have
been established and entry is confirmed,
you can be assured that your car will be
marketed to the widest and most relevant
audience available.
What are you going to sell?
The first step is to tell us what you are
thinking of selling. Go to
www.classiccarauctions.co.uk and select
‘Submit an Entry’. Complete the forms so we
can capture the best possible information
about your car. This information should be
supported with as many recent photographs
as possible, with a minimum of six
photographs being required to submit a car.
Valuation
We assess the value of all entries based on
the information you provide, including their
condition. During your discussions with
our specialists, if our estimate meets your
expectations and you would like to proceed,
the terms of sale are then confirmed and
your car will be entered into one of our
auction events.
Entry
Once terms and conditions have been
agreed upon and you have settled any
relevant entry fees, we will confirm receipt
of the consignment. Following this,
instructions will be given to you to enable
the sending of all relevant paperwork (e.g.
history file, receipts etc.) for the car to
CCA in preparation for the auction. These
procedures effectively represent the formal
instruction of CCA to sell the car on your
behalf.
LOTS 501 - 589
Friday 18th September - 12:00 onwards
In recent years this collection has received little or no use and an element
of recommissioning is to be expected to return the cars to the road again.
Your inspection pre-sale is welcomed and encouraged to appreciate the
potential of these rarely offered motor cars which are strictly sold as seen.

1968 GILBERN GENIE
A decent example of the second design from Wales’ most successful car maker.
• Following the Gilbern GT, Giles Smith and Bernard Friese came up with this well-balanced design
for their 2nd model, the Genie
• Making its debut at the London Motor Show in 1966, the Genie was fitted with a 3-litre Ford Essex

and the running gear was mostly MGB

1962 HILLMAN MINX SERIES IIIC 1600 ESTATE
A tidy example of the ‘Audax’ Series III estate fitted with a Ford 1.8 diesel engine.
• In the mid-1950s Rootes decided to release a new version of the Minx to follow the popular and
successful Mark Minx. During development this new body style was known as ‘Audax’ - Latin for
bold - and the new design, a radical departure from the Mark VIII, was certainly striking
• Introduced in 1961, the latest development of the Audax Series, the Series IIIC, was essentially
the same on the outside, but somewhat plainer in trim and appearance, more reminiscent of the
Special than the De Luxe. It was distinguished from the IIIA and IIIB by a round profile Special/
Husky style front bumper and the letters 1600 on the front doors in place of the Minx script,
which was moved to the rear of the boot
• Finished in dark grey with a red interior

1966 HILLMAN MINX SUPER MKIV ESTATE
The MkIV Super Minx was launched in 1965 and, after 34 years, it was to be the last time the
name Minx was used for a British family car.
• Announced in October 1961, the Super Minx gave Rootes, and particularly the Hillman marque,
an expanded presence in the upper reaches of the family car market
• Originally intended to replace the Minx, it was too large and too expensive and the smaller car
ended up continuing in parallel
• The MkIV was the last of the Super Minx range and featured a strong 1725cc five-bearing, 70bhp
engine, front disc brakes and an all-synchro gearbox
• Old handbook, boot full of parts

• In the 1950s, most manufacturers outsourced their estate cars to specialised coachbuilders

however, this example was finished by Whiteacres with an attractive tailgate
• Powered by the robust 68bhp, 2199cc OHV engine from the Austin 16 with a four-speed, column

This example of Austin’s Italian-influenced, futuristic 1950s sporting two-door looks really

spot lamp, a “Flying A” mascot on each front wing and rear-wheel spats
• Obviously an older restoration but still looks great in Old English White with a smart red interior

Sharing its chassis with the A125 Sheerline, the A135 Princess was built by Vanden Plas at their
Kingsbury works in North London.
• In 1947, Austin produced two virtually identical chassis, one for the A110 (later A125 Sheerline,
built entirely by Austin at their Longbridge factory) and the A120 (later A135) chassis used by
Vanden Plas to produce the Princess at their Kingsbury works
• Although Vanden Plas was by now wholly owned by Austin and much of the running gear and
instrumentation was the same in the two cars, the Princess was the Austin flagship, with a higher
specification leather, wool and Burr Walnut interior
• Subject to an older restoration. Last MOT 2013. Service manual and limited history file

1947 ALVIS TA14 BARNARD WOODIE
When finished, this bespoke TA14-based Woodie will make an ideal period vehicle for picnics
at the Goodwood Revival and similar events.
• The Alvis TA14 was a direct descendant of the 12/70 introduced in 1938, which was a George
Lanchester design and was good for 80mph despite its weight. Quality was still paramount in the
new TA14 with its new 4-cylinder OHV engine of 1892cc
• The car offered here carries unusual ‘woodie’ coachwork, which requires finishing and re-
commissioning. We understand that the rear wings have been repainted but are off the car and
that there are other parts with the car which will assist in the restoration. The buyer will be
rewarded with a very good and unusual ‘woody estate’ which will give years of service
• Ex-Bristol Collection and joined the Warwickshire Collection in March 2013

A vinyl roof, matt black grille, rev counter, anti-roll bar, lowered suspension, sports wheels and
‘go faster’ stripes, everything you could possibly want in a small sports saloon in 1969.
• At the London Motor Show in October 1969 the manufacturers introduced the Austin/Morris
1300 GT. The Morris cars were assembled at Cowley, the Austins at Longbridge (BMC!)
• It featured the same 1275cc twin-carburetter engine as the MG 1300, but with a black full-width
grille, a black vinyl roof and a thick black metal strip along the swage line
• The ride height on the Austin / Morris 1300 GT was fractionally lowered through the reduction of
the Hydrolastic fluid pressure from 225 to 205 psi
• This example is finished in Glacier White with a black vinyl roof, black Ambla trim and black
carpets

• The cheeky little A40 was Austin’s replacement for the evergreen Seven and the first all-new model

influenced by contemporary American cars, independent front suspension and the first
application of a new engine
• The overhead-valve unit, that would become known around the world as the B-series, displaced
1.2-litres in the A40 and developed some 40bhp delivered to the rear wheels via a floor-mounted

• Launched in 1949, the A90 Atlantic was by far the most flamboyant model in the otherwise staid
Austin range
• The retro-futuristic styling (art deco with a rocket age twist) was penned in house by Ricardo
‘Dick’ Burzi
• US-influenced styling cues including five chrome strips running down the bonnet, a built-in centre
spot lamp, a Flying A mascot on each front wing and rear-wheel spats
• Powered by the same torquey 2.6-litre four-cylinder engine that later found fame in the Austin-
Healey 100/4
• Project car but does have its Buff Logbook

Key Sale Information
  • 5. +buyer’s premium of 11% + VAT @ 20% 3classiccarauctions.co.uk About the CCA Condition Report A Lot’s condition report is compiled based on information provided to CCA by the vendor of the Lot. CCA has no access to Lots prior to a sale but does review their condition on the day of the sale. CCA strongly recommends viewing a Lot prior to a sale as it cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information provided. CCA will not entertain any disputes over vendor condition reports. ««««« Poor Numerous faults / Extensive damage / Many missing parts / Project or donor car ««««« Fair Basic condition / Requires attention mechanically and cosmetically / Some damage / Some missing parts ««««« Good Everyday usable classic car / Driven and enjoyed / Commensurate with age and mileage / Drives and looks as it should / Some vehicle history ««««« Very good Almost pristine / Mechanically and cosmetically sound / Driven only occasionally / Extensive vehicle history ««««« Excellent Pristine / Original / Documented nut-and-bolt ground-up restoration / Stored professionally / Trailered only / Complete vehicle history Interested in selling? Here at Classic Car Auctions (CCA) we want to make selling your car as easy and straightforward as possible. By following the simple step-by-step guide below, you will be able to submit your vehicle(s) to CCA for inclusion in a forthcoming auction. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email and a follow-up phone call from one of our specialists. Once all the details have been established and entry is confirmed, you can be assured that your car will be marketed to the widest and most relevant audience available. What are you going to sell? The first step is to tell us what you are thinking of selling. Go to www.classiccarauctions.co.uk and select ‘Submit an Entry’. Complete the forms so we can capture the best possible information about your car. This information should be supported with as many recent photographs as possible, with a minimum of six photographs being required to submit a car. Valuation We assess the value of all entries based on the information you provide, including their condition. During your discussions with our specialists, if our estimate meets your expectations and you would like to proceed, the terms of sale are then confirmed and your car will be entered into one of our auction events. Entry Once terms and conditions have been agreed upon and you have settled any relevant entry fees, we will confirm receipt of the consignment. Following this, instructions will be given to you to enable the sending of all relevant paperwork (e.g. history file, receipts etc.) for the car to CCA in preparation for the auction. These procedures effectively represent the formal instruction of CCA to sell the car on your behalf.

Not a factory build. Possibly never finished or possibly finished and stripped for restoration • Previously registered JP 689 Vendor condition report: Overall: 27 / 135 «¶¶¶¶
