1) The document summarizes a 6th grade class retreat at the American Club, where students were divided into groups and participated in various team-building activities.
2) The activities included untangling knots in a rope, navigating a hula hoop obstacle course, balancing a hula hoop on one finger, a "Have You Ever" question game, and passing hula hoops around in a circle while holding hands.
3) After the activities, students had free time to swim and have lunch before returning to school.
2. On The Bus
When we were going to the American Club, my
advisory ( Mr. Coopers ) and Mrs Cover’s advisory
were on the same bus. On the bus we thought of
what cheer we could do for the pep rally, and
finally Mr Cooper came up with a cheer which went
like this:
“Say uh ungawah 6th grade got the power, say uh
ungawah tigers got the power, say uh ungawah
Cooper got the power, say uh ungawah Cover got
the power, say...”
3. When we reached...
When we reached, the whole 6th grade, and the
6th grade teachers, gathered up in the basketball
court, so that Mr. Haque could tell us which
groups we were in. When we were divided into 5
groups( I think) we went to different activities in
our groups.
4. Knots!
My groups first activity was Knots. In Knots, Mr.
Cooper put down a long piece of rope in the
ground and everyone grabbed a piece, but after
you grabbed a piece, you weren’t allowed to let go
of it. Well, since we were all holding a different
piece, the rope was all tangled up and our
“mission” was to get the knots untangled.
5. Hula Hut
After Knots we went to “The Hula Hut” activity,
with Mr. Haque. When we went to the activity, we
saw a house made out of hula hoops. Our
challenge was to break the house, make it again,
and then make every single person in our group
go through it WITHOUT breaking the house. When
we had done that, our challenge changed. I think
we had 3 different challenges!
6. Hula Hoop Balancing
Then, we had ANOTHER hula hoop activity. This
one was with Mrs Cover. In this hula hoop
activity, all of us had to use ONE finger and put
it under the hula hoop and slowly lift it up, and
then bring it down again. it sounds really easy
but it was VERY HARD!!
7. “Have You Ever”
Next, we were supposed to go to Miss Bretzfield’s
activity, which was “Have You Ever”. In this activity
we were supposed to step on one of the blue
dots , which Miss Bretzfield had laid out to form a
circle, while one person stepped in the middle of
the circle and made up a “Have You Ever”. The
person in the middle would say Have You Ever
_________?. If the answer was no, we wouldn’t
move, if the answer was yes, we would move to
another dot (including the person in the middle)
until someone new was in the middle. Everyone
had a different answer, usually.
8. Hula Hoop Circle
After the “Have You Ever” we went to Mrs
Schaffer’s activity. In that activity we had to form
a circle, hold hands and then pass 1-4 hula hoops
around the circle (sometimes in different
directions) WITHOUT LETTING GO OF OUR
HANDS!!!!!!!!!!
9. Swimming, Lunch and
then, Back to School!
After all those activities, we had FREEEEEEE
TIMMEEEE!!!!! In free time me and most of the
other people swam in the pool, and then had
lunch.
Then it was time to go back to school!!!
