But, they have healthy, green and nutritious grass
in fact, they can be termed as the sea of grass.
3. Desert vegetation is also known as
xerophytes , that means the vegetation
and adapt themselves to the hot and dry
climate. Thorny bushes , Cacti, date Palm,
etc. are the main shrubs of these regions.
4. Forest are an important natural resource.
They are useful to us in number of ways :-
 They provide us with timber and a host of
other products like lac, resins, gums,
medicinal herbs, leaves, honey, etc.
Forests helps in maintaining the ecological
balance, by absorbing carbon dioxide and
releasing oxygen.
 They cause rainfall and prevent floods and
soil erosion.
 They also provide natural nabitat to various
species of wildlife .

conservation are :-
 Reckless deforestation should be checked.
 The practice of shifting cultivation among

the wildlife:-
 Several biosphere reserves are established
to preserve the genetic diversity of the wild
animals.

made to protect wildlife.
 Creeks, lakes and wetlands should be
conserved.
 Animal hunting should be prohibited. To
meet this purpose, several laws have passed
against the hunting of animals and birds .
 At regional and community level some
awareness programs should be
encouraged. Social Forestry and Van
Mahotsav are the examples of such
awareness programmes .
