Way in which they combine image and

The image of the baby is the main focus of the whole advert which will draw
attention to it because of it’s shocking nature. It then has in bright white bold
writing which says “John Danoldeon Aged 23” which contrasts to the age
which is obviously below the age of 1 and placed near the baby to be sure to
be seen and provoke thought i.e. if how can the baby be 24? Leading the
audience to look at the other writing for answers.

A small paragraph is explained at the bottom right hand corner of what the
adverts explains in small writing which tells you the story behind the picture
and the message they are trying to convey but still not in the way or
distracting from the picture.
People they are trying to appeal to
• They are trying to appeal to any one who cares
• Any one who can be shocked as that is their main motive to try and shock
  and move people into doing helping
• Any one who is willing to take time to read it because if they are willing to
  read it they may be willing to help
• Ideally people with money
Message they are trying to convey
The message they are trying to convey is that problems, in this case neglect, is bound
to lead minors into troubled lives when they reach adulthood as many of the Barnados
people have witnessed and worked with.

The child using drugs shows that there is a link between childhood and adulthood and
how whatever happens in childhood could affect your adulthood and that what is
going to happen in later life is already starting to take place as a result of these
problems

The background is shown to be dirty and bare shows that the baby is being neglected
and could link this to heroin injecting as the only thing to do and to escape the place
he I kept therefore could also hold the message as not to judge people that have such
problems as you do not know what led them to that state.
