Little Rock Central High School in 1957 was the site of desegregation efforts as the Little Rock Nine, the first black students to attend the previously all-white school, faced resistance. The second stop on the civil rights tour was the Daisy Bates House in Little Rock, the home of a civil rights leader who helped the Little Rock Nine in their efforts.
