The survey, open from April 5-26, asked Gresham residents for input on how to spend $5.4 million in funding from a voter-approved metro parks and natural areas bond measure. The city identified 10 natural areas for conservation and improvement, and wants feedback on where residents would like to see greater access to trails and natural spaces. The funding can only be used for parks or natural resource projects that improve access to nature, water quality, habitat or climate change resilience.

Background:
Gresham will be receiving $5.4 million dollars from Metro’s 2019 Parks and Nature bond measure. The Mayor and
City Council want to provide an opportunity for public input and want to hear how you would like to see the City
spend our “local share” of this money.
The money may only be spent on parks or natural resources projects that boost access to nature, water quality,
habitat, and protect against climate change. The money cannot be spent on playgrounds, sports fields, recreation
programs, pools or fountains.
Bigger Parks initiative:
This survey to solicit feedback for what could be funded by Metro’s Local Share program is one piece of a bigger
Parks initiative for the City that has been identified in the 2021 Council Work Plan.
