This document describes a nanosensor system called the Nano-detector that is designed to mimic the human sense of smell. The Nano-detector uses an array of carbon nanotube and silicon nanowire sensors to detect volatile organic compounds emitted from human skin. These sensors work together like olfactory receptors in the nose. The signals from the sensors are analyzed using principal component analysis software to identify the presence of humans. Potential applications of this technology include searching for survivors trapped in rubble after disasters, finding missing persons, crime scene investigations, and disease diagnosis. The Nano-detector aims to overcome limitations of existing detection methods like trained dogs.

This document discusses how nanosensors can be used in the food industry for safety and health purposes. Nanosensors offer improvements in selectivity, speed, and sensitivity compared to traditional methods for determining microbes, contaminants, pollutants, and food freshness. They can be placed in food packaging to rapidly detect pathogens. Wireless nanosensor networks are being developed to monitor food quality throughout the supply chain. The future of the food sector will rely on integrating nanosensor technology and the internet of things for producing and distributing safe nano-enabled products with little health or environmental impact.

120 landen. Medewerkers van Accenture hebben
vorig jaar op vrijwillige basis 22 hoger opgeleide
anderstaligen geholpen bij het zoeken naar werk.
Sébastian Eggermont is manager bij Accenture en
gespecialiseerd in de chemische sector. Hij wilde
Denyse graag helpen.
opvallend sterke punten, werkt soms beter.”
Toegewijd
In
april begon Denyse als onderzoeksassistent bij
Procter & Gamble. Haar contract loopt officieel
tot april dit jaar. “Ik hoop natuurlijk dat ik mag
blijven.
