History of Nigeria.
• Nigeria is bordered by Niger, some of Chad,
Cameroon, Benin, and the Atlantic ocean. This
place was officially founded in 1914 when the
British protectors of the Northern, and
southern parts of Nigeria decided to come
together. Nigeria is also very diverse.
• The capitol is Abuja
• The area size is 356,669 (square miles)
• In 2018 the population is 195,875,237
•
Religion in Nigeria
• 48.9% Muslim
• 48.3% Christian
• 2.8 were involved with other religions, or
didn’t practice any religion
Different Ethnic groups
• Hausa is the larges taking up 25%
• Yoruba 21%
• Igbo 18%
• Ijaw 10%
• Kanuri 4%
• Fulani 3.9%
• Ibibio 3.5%
• Tiv 2.5%
• Other 12%
Languages of Nigeria
• English is the official language of Nigeria.
Although there are no specific percentages.
According to the CIA the other most spoken
languages are Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, and Fulani,
along with over 500 additional indigenous
languages.

• There highest selling genre’s are romantic
movies.
• They love to tell stories within their films

• The movie “Fifty” was recorded in Lagos
Nigeria, which is a popular city. It’s the story of
four 50 year old women going through their
own experiences during their midlife crises.
This is a romantic/drama, released December,
18th , 2016. This movie was directed by Biyi
Bandele.
Biyi Bandele
Born October 13, 1967 in Nigeria. He
started off as a novelist, then
graduated into becoming a play
writer, and after that became a film
maker. He lived in london foe some
time, then eventually moved back to
Nigeria. He attended colege at
Obafemi Awolowo University, and
also wrote books.
Most Notable Nollywood Actor: Pete
Edochie
Also known as one of the greatest
actors of all time. Edochie, has been
featured in over 200 Nollywod films.
In 1967 he started working for
Eastern Nigeria broad casting
company; and in 1980 became a
broad caster. They say he is the best
Actor to ever touch the Nollywood
scene.
