Chuck Jones was born in Spokane, Washington in 1912 and moved to Hollywood as a child. He studied art in college but learned animation was not an option. He got his start in 1936 as a cel washer at Leon Schlesinger Studio, which was later sold to Warner Bros, where he eventually became the director of animation. Jones is famous for directing How the Grinch Stole Christmas in 1966 and creating beloved Looney Tunes characters like Wile E. Coyote, the Road Runner, Gossamer, Pepe Le Pew, and Marvin the Martian during his career at Warner Bros.
