This are the interiors of the Merindol Colony in 2137ad after the Climate Change Collapse and the Apocalipse Wars. Merindol is a small Colony in the Italian Alps where there are around 4000 humans. The Colony values mainly around meritocracy and selection by effort.

Kurgan is a russian expatriate that is secretly in love with Sonia Contado. Henry is a british soldier that took refuge in Merindol Colony in 2137ad. He is the lover of Sonia Contado.

2. Chuck Close
Born in July 1940, close was dyslexic. He
struggled in school, yet still achieved and
MFA from Yale. Chuck Close focused on
portraits of people, typically turning the
photo to black and white. With a dark
background he created a clear contrast
between the background and face, making
the had look as if it was floating.

With a light
shining from
the right of the
face, we
created a
shadow on the
left. Against a
black
background
this mimicked
Chuck Closes
photos.
4. Edited
I turned the saturation down to
wash out the colour and make it
black and white. I also changed the
contrast to bring a lighter tone to
the face that faded out to the
darkness. The picture was cropped
to focus on the face, similar to
Chuck Close portraits.
