The document describes Christianity Explored, a 7-week course that explores the life of Jesus and what it means to follow him by looking at the Gospel of Mark. The course gives people time and space to think about life's big questions and investigate the basics of the Christian faith. It is offered at a church in Berlin twice a year, both at the church and off-site locations, and over 75% of the church's average worship attendance participates.

10. The Good News
A) God created us to be in relationship
with him enjoying his perfect
goodness. But we have sought our
satisfaction in other things. This
rejection of God is what the Bible
calls “sin”.

B) God’s perfect love and justice
means that he cannot simply ignore
sin. So, we will be judged and God’s
righteous punishment for sin is death
and hell.

12. The Good News
C) However, the good news is that
Jesus Christ died on the cross to deal
with God’s loving justice. Jesus –
God himself as a human – died as
our substitute taking our punishment
on himself.

D) God then raised Jesus from the
dead. His resurrection is the
conclusive sign that Jesus’ sacrificial
death has been accepted by God.

E) If we turn away from our sin, put
our trust in Jesus and seek to obey
him, we can once again enjoy the
uniquely satisfying relationship with
God for which we were created.

F) We do not deserve this
extraordinary rescue, and nothing
we do can earn it. All we can do is
gratefully accept what God has done
for us.
