Effective and efficient data communication and networking facilities are vital to any enterprise.
Three different forces have consistently driven the architecture and evolution of data communications and networking facilities: traffic growth, development of new services, and advances in technology.
Momentous changes in the way organizations do business and process information have been driven by changes in networking technology and at the same time have driven those changes. These include a growing need for high-speed LANs in the business environment to support requirements like Centralized server farms, Power workgroups, and High-speed local backbones. Also changes in corporate data traffic patterns are driving the creation of high-speed WANs. Lastly rapid conversion of consumer electronics to digital technology is having an impact on both the Internet and corporate intranets, dramatically increasing the amount of image and video traffic carried by networks.

Globus Compute wth IRI Workflows - GlobusWorld 2024Globus
As part of the DOE Integrated Research Infrastructure (IRI) program, NERSC at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and ALCF at Argonne National Lab are working closely with General Atomics on accelerating the computing requirements of the DIII-D experiment. As part of the work the team is investigating ways to speedup the time to solution for many different parts of the DIII-D workflow including how they run jobs on HPC systems. One of these routes is looking at Globus Compute as a way to replace the current method for managing tasks and we describe a brief proof of concept showing how Globus Compute could help to schedule jobs and be a tool to connect compute at different facilities.

Code reviews are vital for ensuring good code quality. They serve as one of our last lines of defense against bugs and subpar code reaching production.
Yet, they often turn into annoying tasks riddled with frustration, hostility, unclear feedback and lack of standards. How can we improve this crucial process?
In this session we will cover:
- The Art of Effective Code Reviews
- Streamlining the Review Process
- Elevating Reviews with Automated Tools
By the end of this presentation, you'll have the knowledge on how to organize and improve your code review proces
First Steps with Globus Compute Multi-User EndpointsGlobus
In this presentation we will share our experiences around getting started with the Globus Compute multi-user endpoint. Working with the Pharmacology group at the University of Auckland, we have previously written an application using Globus Compute that can offload computationally expensive steps in the researcher's workflows, which they wish to manage from their familiar Windows environments, onto the NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure) cluster. Some of the challenges we have encountered were that each researcher had to set up and manage their own single-user globus compute endpoint and that the workloads had varying resource requirements (CPUs, memory and wall time) between different runs. We hope that the multi-user endpoint will help to address these challenges and share an update on our progress here.

How to Position Your Globus Data Portal for Success Ten Good PracticesGlobus
Science gateways allow science and engineering communities to access shared data, software, computing services, and instruments. Science gateways have gained a lot of traction in the last twenty years, as evidenced by projects such as the Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) and the Center of Excellence on Science Gateways (SGX3) in the US, The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and its platforms in Australia, and the projects around Virtual Research Environments in Europe. A few mature frameworks have evolved with their different strengths and foci and have been taken up by a larger community such as the Globus Data Portal, Hubzero, Tapis, and Galaxy. However, even when gateways are built on successful frameworks, they continue to face the challenges of ongoing maintenance costs and how to meet the ever-expanding needs of the community they serve with enhanced features. It is not uncommon that gateways with compelling use cases are nonetheless unable to get past the prototype phase and become a full production service, or if they do, they don't survive more than a couple of years. While there is no guaranteed pathway to success, it seems likely that for any gateway there is a need for a strong community and/or solid funding streams to create and sustain its success. With over twenty years of examples to draw from, this presentation goes into detail for ten factors common to successful and enduring gateways that effectively serve as best practices for any new or developing gateway.

SOCRadar Research Team: Latest Activities of IntelBrokerSOCRadar
The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) has suffered an alleged data breach after a notorious threat actor claimed to have exfiltrated data from its systems. Infamous data leaker IntelBroker posted on the even more infamous BreachForums hacking forum, saying that Europol suffered a data breach this month.
The alleged breach affected Europol agencies CCSE, EC3, Europol Platform for Experts, Law Enforcement Forum, and SIRIUS. Infiltration of these entities can disrupt ongoing investigations and compromise sensitive intelligence shared among international law enforcement agencies.
However, this is neither the first nor the last activity of IntekBroker. We have compiled for you what happened in the last few days. To track such hacker activities on dark web sources like hacker forums, private Telegram channels, and other hidden platforms where cyber threats often originate, you can check SOCRadar’s Dark Web News.

Understanding Globus Data Transfers with NetSageGlobus
NetSage is an open privacy-aware network measurement, analysis, and visualization service designed to help end-users visualize and reason about large data transfers. NetSage traditionally has used a combination of passive measurements, including SNMP and flow data, as well as active measurements, mainly perfSONAR, to provide longitudinal network performance data visualization. It has been deployed by dozens of networks world wide, and is supported domestically by the Engagement and Performance Operations Center (EPOC), NSF #2328479. We have recently expanded the NetSage data sources to include logs for Globus data transfers, following the same privacy-preserving approach as for Flow data. Using the logs for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) as an example, this talk will walk through several different example use cases that NetSage can answer, including: Who is using Globus to share data with my institution, and what kind of performance are they able to achieve? How many transfers has Globus supported for us? Which sites are we sharing the most data with, and how is that changing over time? How is my site using Globus to move data internally, and what kind of performance do we see for those transfers? What percentage of data transfers at my institution used Globus, and how did the overall data transfer performance compare to the Globus users?

Objective
My objective is to bring my Real Estate and Programming Skillset to a Company that is
innovative, creative, with a Goal Oriented Business. I have worked for myself, as a
Building Contractor, Real Estate Developer and Web Developer. I am now at a juncture
in life where I would like to work normal work weeks, and have time for my family. This is
something I have missed over a 17 year period, being CEO and Broker/Owner of all of
my Businesses, what I would like now is a quiet life. However, the innovation and
creativity character traits garnered over the last two decades will certainly be a major
asset to those who I elect to work with.
I would preferably like to work in Information Technology. I would also be willing to
entertain a Real Estate Position, with some emphasis on Web Development, SEO, and
Marketing Strategy and implementation of those ideas. I am skilled to do them both,
and they truly do go hand in hand in todays market. I am most interested in helping
businesses succeed online in any capacity, as people do not typically go to the second
page. I have the skills to get any business into first page ranking in any field with a
budget, a well orchestrated plan, and taking part in the beginning of such a venture
would be preferable for those without a plan. I can integrate into a plan that is already
constructed as well.
Experience
Locomotive Engineer 1996-2003
I worked for the Montana Rail Link as a Section man, laying rail directly after high school. Montana Rail
Link purchased the Rock Island Line in the Midwest, and I decided to leave Montana for a chance at
becoming a 3rd Generation Engineer. I became certified with the Federal Railroad Administration as an
Engineer in February of 1999, at age 20 I was the youngest Soo Line Engineer in the history of the Rail
Road. This was a tremendous amount of responsibility at that age looking back, but I never had an
incident of any kind, bringing freight trains into Chicago, the busiest Rail Lines in the USA.
Illinois/Iowa General Contractor 2002-2004
I became certified and bonded for General Residential Construction in the Quad Cities. These 4 cities
were separated by state line of the Mississippi River. I worked building Decks, Roofing, Siding and
Windows for 2 years prior to moving back home to Montana.
Illinois Real Estate Agent 2003-2004
I became certified as an Illinois Real Estate Agent in March, of 2003. It was a short stay in Illinois, but I
2. 2
learned a tremendous amount of knowledge in the art of Real Estate and Construction in that time. I
worked doing rehabilitation projects in Brownstone areas, buying old dilapidated homes, and turning
them into rental units, or flipping them. I also learned about the 1031 Tax Exchange system, and Real
Estate law from some of the best in the business.
Montana Supervising Real Estate Broker 2004-Present
I became a Real Estate Agent in 04, and earned my Brokers License in 2006, doing Residential,
Commercial, and Construction Projects. I became a Double Diamond Producer (100M in Sales), in 2015.
Being an expert in Real Estate Development, Real Estate Law, and Sales, was the key to becoming part of
the few who make large impacts on a market. We decided after establishing 2 major Real Estate
Businesses, to move to South Florida, and staff our businesses with Employees. My Wife, Mary, and I have
been partners for the majority of our 19 year marriage. ( So if I say we, I am referring to her, my partner,
best friend and wife.)
Tenantbook 2013-2014
Tenantbook is a website, that was worked on in 2013 through 2014. In this time, I learned how to
construct Enterprise Web Applications using the Microsoft Visual Stack. The website was never launched
due to a severe car accident I was involved in caused by a drunken tourist. I still own the code set, and it
is ready to be launched, but we have elected to potentially sell it. As I stated prior, I would like to work for
someone with regular hours, a regular paycheck, and be able to enjoy my life.
Education
Locomotive Engineer Training Academy 1997-1999
I graduated the Academy in 1999, and was certified as a locomotive Engineer.
Florida, Montana, Illinois Real Estate Training 2003-Present
I have been engaged in Real Estate for nearly 2 decades and in that time have learned a tremendous
amount. There have been nearly 100 seminars, classes, CE, and the like that make me a very
knowledgeable person on where Real Estate is going, where is has been, and what can be done to
maximize lead generation using these skills.
Skills
Real Estate Broker, MT and FL 2003-Present
I know Real Estate. I have been in the business to see it go from a 3 ring binder MLS and morphing into a
completely different data driven occupation. The goals in Real Estate, to become successful, is to know
how to market. Marketing is Real Estate, and Real Estate is online. This was the reason I elected to fund
a 200K dollar website that innovated and streamlined a part of the intricacies of the business.
Web Developer, C#, Microsoft, FB, Google Developer 2013-Present
I was the Project Manager for a large enterprise MSSQL and Visual Studio Web Application. This code set
was developed using some of the best Web Developers, Graphic Artists, and I still have the code today.
3. 3
It is a fully functioning application. The costs to make it run, over 10K a month, have moved me to put it
onto the market to be sold. As stated prior, I just would like to work for someone at this juncture.
However, I am proficient in SQL Server, Visual Studio, some JS, HTML5, ASP.NET and the surrounding
knowledge such as all office type applications. I ran my own servers, and development machines,
building the machines from the motherboard up, and repairing the servers, typically Dell, giving me a high
level of expertise in the fields of Server-side languages, (RAZOR, JSON, etc) to Client Side languages. I
can repair, replace and diagnose not only network issues, but machine issues, and provide the repairs
necessary.
