This document provides an introduction and overview of papers presented at a symposium on "China's Impact on the Global Economy". It summarizes the key topics and findings of each paper, which examine various aspects of China's economic interactions with the world economy such as China's exchange rate regime, estimates of China's equilibrium real exchange rate, measuring China's relative prices, determinants of China's trade flows, the impact of energy prices on China's economy, and projections of China's future current account balance. The introduction concludes that China's impact on the global economy, while possibly changing over time, will remain significant.
