childrens responses o standard stimuli presented in the form of
pictures of Animals CAT-A or Humans CAT-H in common social
situations.

• The CAT, was developed by psychiatrist and psychologist Leopold Bellak
and Sonya Sorrel Bellak and first published in 1949, is based on the picture
story test called THEMATIC APERCEPTION TEST(TAT).
ADMINISTRATION
• The CAT, which takes 20-40 minutes to administer, conducted by a professional
psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, teacher or specially trained pediatrician in a
clinical, research, or educational setting.
HISTORY OF CAT
• The CAT, as well as other perojective measures, has been criticized for its
lack of a standardized method of administration as well as the lack of
standard norms for interpretation.
