WHO IS CHILD?
 A child is any person under the age of
18.
 Under the law, a child usually refers to
an individual who is a minor, who is
below legal age or the age of
majority.The age of majority being 18
in most states.
 In 2015, age between 16 – 18 can also
taken trial for Henious Offences after
Nirbhaya Case.

 The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection)
Act (2000, amended in 2015)
 The Prohibition of Child MarriageAct
(2006)
 The Protection of Children from Sexual
Offences Act (2012)
 The Child Labour (Prohibition and
Regulation)Act (1986, amended in 2016).
