This thesis investigates the feasibility of a countywide recycling program in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, suggesting that consolidating small recycling centers into larger facilities could reduce costs and enhance efficiency. However, social factors, such as the desire for community interaction among recyclers and convenience of travel to recycling centers, present significant challenges to this consolidation. Data from public and expert surveys revealed no significant correlations between educational attainment, median age, and recycling rates, indicating that other factors may influence recycling behavior.
