In modern businesses a key success in adoption of AI is in adoption of
intelligent chatbots. Chatbots are a runaway success in a variety of
horizontal and vertical business use cases. In terms of use cases the
following horizontal applications assume high importance.
These are applicable in diverse verticals:
1. Customer Service
Across verticals the function of customer service is slowly being handed
over to intelligent chatbots. Usual channels of customer service have been
call centre, web forms, ivr systems etc.
Today by training chatbots on past
conversations we can get very smart
AI based chatbots which can provide
real life like correct and intelligent
responses. Today across
governments, banks, healthcare
providers, ecommerce sites,
chatbots are the new customer service channels.
2. Self Service BOTS
An orthogonal set of chatbots are gearing up
for various self-service actions in enterprises
be it for employees, service providers or
customers. These self-service actions could
range from getting some actions done like
resetting passwords etc.
3. Information BOTS
These chatbots are simple questions and
answers bots which can in general answer
questions frequently asked by clients.
4. Support BOTS
Specific to the area of IT technical support the
chatbot technology can transform the process
from the usual process via raising a ticket to
be resolved later, to one involving real time
resolution.
5. Entertainment and news BOTS
Chatbots are now being deployed to push
information like news and jokes etc.
6. Action BOTS
These chatbots are front ends which take commands
from front end and perform actions in the backend like
updating a database etc.
7. Empathizing BOTS
A special kind of bots which patiently listen to users and in
the end provide guidance.

  • 2. In modern businesses a key success in adoption of AI is in adoption of intelligent chatbots. Chatbots are a runaway success in a variety of horizontal and vertical business use cases. In terms of use cases the following horizontal applications assume high importance. These are applicable in diverse verticals: 1. Customer Service Across verticals the function of customer service is slowly being handed over to intelligent chatbots. Usual channels of customer service have been call centre, web forms, ivr systems etc. Today by training chatbots on past conversations we can get very smart AI based chatbots which can provide real life like correct and intelligent responses. Today across governments, banks, healthcare providers, ecommerce sites, chatbots are the new customer service channels. 2. Self Service BOTS An orthogonal set of chatbots are gearing up for various self-service actions in enterprises be it for employees, service providers or customers. These self-service actions could range from getting some actions done like resetting passwords etc.
  • 3. 3. Information BOTS These chatbots are simple questions and answers bots which can in general answer questions frequently asked by clients. 4. Support BOTS Specific to the area of IT technical support the chatbot technology can transform the process from the usual process via raising a ticket to be resolved later, to one involving real time resolution. 5. Entertainment and news BOTS Chatbots are now being deployed to push information like news and jokes etc. 6. Action BOTS These chatbots are front ends which take commands from front end and perform actions in the backend like updating a database etc. 7. Empathizing BOTS A special kind of bots which patiently listen to users and in the end provide guidance.
