Character profile
- 2. Claire is the ‘storyteller’ who tells the others about the rumours to so with the woods and about the sacrifice. However, she is also the ‘bad’ person and she wants one of the others to reawaken the rituals and release the demons which is why she convinces one of them (Lizzie) to put their blood on the tree. There is also a possibility that she is either a reincarnation of the original witch or else is possessed by her spirit because she does whatever she can to help the demons.
- 3. Lizzie is the main character in the film as it is her who is tricked into putting her blood on the trunk of the tree, unintentionally, beginning the ritual again. As it is her blood on the tree, the demons recognise her blood and so come after her to kill her at the base of the tree and complete the ritual that was interrupted the first time (the story). It is up to her to stop the ritual and rescue her friends (if Claire can be rescued).
- 4. Roxie is the last member of the group who gets captured by Claire and possibly later becomes part of a second, much larger ritual along with Lizzie. She is quite quiet and doesn’t say very much in the trailer but she is Lizzie’s best friend and so is used as bait to trap her for the sacrifice.
