Chapter 15, Lesson 3
The Women’s Movement
For page 7, students read Chapter 15, Lesson 3 and
take Quadrant Notes.
Upper Left is the sections titled “Reform for
Women” and “Seneca Falls Convention” on pages
415-416.
Upper Right is the section “The Seneca Falls
Declaration” on pages 416-417.
Lower Left is the sections titled “The Women’s
Movement Grows” on page 417 and “Marriage and
the Family” on page 419.
Lower Right is devoted to defining “suffrage” and
answering questions 1-3 on page 419. Answers
should restate question.
For page 6, students create a commemorative
stamp for the lesson with an explanation.
In class, we looked at some primary source material
on the Seneca Falls Convention to see what changes
these women (and men) were advocating for and
what resolutions they drew up. We also compared
their Declaration to the Declaration of
Independence.
Students sum it all up in a commemorative stamp
designed on the top portion of page 6. Stamp
should be pretty all-inclusive and colorful. On the
bottom portion should be a thorough explanation
of their design elements that incorporated
significant points from the Women’s reform
movement.
