The future of IoT: welcome to the brave new world Elena Mota
The brave new technological world we’ve all been dreaming of has finally arrived, it’s smart and filled with “things”, Internet of things. IoT which is a short version for the internet of things refers to home appliances, vehicles, portable devices and other gadgets that are connected to the internet and exchange data with each other. In 2019 it’s a safe bet to assume that you probably own at least one such device at this point.
The future of IoT looks pretty promising. Already they impact our lives, homes, cities we live in, how we work, travel or interact with the world around us. Let’s look where things are headed in these main areas of our lives:
The Downtown Detroit Partnership Fall Stakeholder Meeting held on Nov. 7 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.
David Blaszkiewicz, president and CEO of Invest Detroit, shared his perspective on important projects and developments taking place in Detroit and discussed the investment trends happening in real estate right now. Following his remarks, DDP highlighted the ongoing Downtown development projects as well as projects that are on the horizon.
Detroit is a natural area for a disaster preparedness and recovery hub. Set on the shore of the Detroit River, in a State open to immigration, Detroit has an existing infrastructure ready for temporary or permanent migration. Money spent on responding to and rebuilding areas prone to natural destruction would be better purposed restoring and re-purposing the Detroit region which is relatively safe from natural disasters.
