This document summarizes the results of a pan-European survey on health analysis and management conducted in six European countries from 2006 to 2009. The survey covered topics such as assessment of healthcare systems, patient mobility, social requirements, new technologies, prevention, and care for the elderly. Key findings include that views of healthcare systems varied by country but remained stable over time, with most rating standard of care as excellent or very good. Mobility for treatment was important to many, though economic factors could now impact access. Prevention programs and online health tools were generally supported.
The document summarizes the results of a survey on healthcare systems in several European countries and the US. Key findings include:
- Respondents rated their country's healthcare system quality, though Germany, Sweden, and the UK received higher ratings than Italy, Poland and the US.
- Perceptions of doctors' skills and training quality were generally positive, though sharing of information between providers needed improvement.
- Ensuring access for all citizens and managing costs for an aging population will be ongoing challenges for healthcare systems.
- Most respondents felt their country's healthcare industry contributes significantly to economic growth.
Best Practices for Security in Microsoft SharePoint 2013AntonioMaio2
This document discusses best practices for security in Microsoft SharePoint 2013. It recommends using specific managed accounts with least privileges for SQL Server, installing and configuring SharePoint, and running the SharePoint farm. Authentication should be claims-based and permissions should be assigned through inheritance and security scopes. Web application policies allow controlling permissions and access across an entire web application. Public websites require carefully configuring anonymous access and locking down access to _layouts pages and web services. Other security features discussed include information rights management, auditing, and privileged users.

AMR Think-Do-Tank, Geneva international, regroups more than 50 international experts from US, China, India, Japan, France, and many other countries. All members have an international, demonstrated expertise in their field, allowing AMR Think-do-tank to take actions across many areas of expertise. Our group is coordinated by core team members composed of academics, NGO leaders, and health experts (former WHO, UN,...).
This document summarizes key points from a presentation on societal and health challenges in Europe given at the 4th International MS Patient Summit in Rome. It discusses the high costs of brain disorders in Europe, which have increased from €386 billion in 2004 to €798 billion in 2010. Indirect costs accounted for 40% of total costs, while direct healthcare costs were 37% and direct non-medical costs were 23%. As life expectancy increases globally, aging populations will present new challenges for healthcare systems. Factors like increased polypharmacy, migration, and access to medications and healthcare were also covered. The presentation argued for partnership, communication, and innovation to help address these issues going forward.
Final letter to_european_council_securedecupresident
The letter urges EU leaders to focus on a sustainable, equitable Europe that prioritizes citizen health at the upcoming summit. It expresses concern that austerity measures are threatening economic recovery, health systems, and social values. Indiscriminate cuts to health and social services will increase costs and health problems in the long run. Bold reforms are needed that strengthen social protection systems and reflect societal needs rather than financial markets.

Compare and Contrast Healthcare delivery in France and the UKmeducationdotnet
This document compares the healthcare systems of France and the UK. It finds that in France, healthcare is funded through both public and private sources. Healthcare expenditures per capita are higher in France than the UK. The French system provides better access to doctors and specialists with virtually no waiting lists compared to the UK. Cancer survival rates and heart disease outcomes are also better in France. However, the French system lacks coordination of care. While hand washing and infection control practices are concerning, France has lower MRSA rates than the UK. Overall, the document concludes the French healthcare system is very good, though both countries' systems could still improve.

Psychological first aid (PFA) involves providing practical care and support to people who have experienced distressing events. It aims to help people address basic needs, feel safe and calm, and connect to social support. PFA is meant for recently distressed individuals, not those needing long-term counseling. It should be provided by trained volunteers and workers to help people cope after crises like disasters, violence or accidents. PFA focuses on listening supportively without pressuring people to discuss their experiences.

World Health Organization 2008 - Primary Health Care: Now More Than EverNick Jacobs
Why a renewal of primary health care (PHC), and why now, more than ever? Globalization is putting the social cohesion of many countries under stress, and health systems are clearly not performing as well as they could and should. People are increasingly impatient with the inability of health services to deliver. Few would disagree that health systems need to respond better – and faster – to the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).
