2. Companies and
competitiveness of Eastern Europe
• The E.E. is service oriented and tends to imports
more than they exports.
• However the IT industry is of global interest, and
took off in the last few years and will continue
growing in the future as well.
• Despite all the other
difficulties(political, economical, social...etc.)techno
logy will always represents a need!
3. • In Romania, for exemple, the IT market has
grown by 27% in the last 6 moths.
• The Romanian labour market notes a global
growth in the field of IT in such department
as marketing and sales, research and
development, administrative and executive.
4. Interviews&discussions
Karen Moloney, futurologist and business psychologist
commented :
“The world will divide into those who understand
technology and those who don’t. [...]Those who can
program will create the world we live in, so I would
say get yourself into that field. If you can’t, find
yourself something to do that is hyper-
human, which computers can’t do, such as
entertainment, sport, caring and personal services
industries.”
5. • Following the discutions our weakest point is
socio-political instability and our strongest
point is having well trained people.
• The industries that we can develop are IT-C
and consultancy.
6. Future Eastern European company
Future companies employees will work from their home
computers, iPad, phones or holographic screens... They will coordinate
robots from a large distance and they will be from all over the world, not
just from a specific region or country (inclination towards globalization is
already high).
The future will focus on virtual communities and online platforms through
the high technology which includes holograms and avatars even for the
Eastern Europe countries.
Nowadays the amount of information is very accessible and widespread. It
is very important to know how to select the information you need and use
it. In the future we will focus only on the human intelligence (less on brute
force).
All the sectors will be equally important. There is a tendency to
concentrate all the theories and scientific knowledge to one and only
formula that will fit all, so as for a future job you should know a little of
everything due to the dynamism and the explosion of the evolution.
7. • The increasing consumption of technology
and the need for knowledge demands a higher
presence of web-based consultancy firms.
• Considering the opportunities of the internet
and the value of information we belive that
the organisation of the future invisioned by
Bennis has become a necesity.
8. • The company should be structured around a
hard core of pluridisciplinary educated
managers, capable of acqiring the necesary
resourses for the need of consultancy at a
given moment.; thereby the structure and size
should remain adaptable to the market
demand in real time, if possible.
9. • The ownership must be multinational in order
to promote a human face to the consumer
and to ensure him of the organizations
implication and motivation, also helping the
business in overcoming national identity
quarels.
