The document proposes a mandatory internship project in Bangladesh to address youth unemployment among recent graduates from the University of Dhaka's social science faculty. A survey found the main causes of unemployment were a mismatch between supply and demand in the labor market, lack of skills, and social perceptions of work. The proposed solution would place 1,000 unemployed graduates in 6-month internships per year through partnerships between government and universities, utilizing existing infrastructure at no added cost. The internships aim to give participants practical work experience, technical skills, and challenge cultural norms to better prepare youth for available jobs.

5. Solution
• Launching a ‘Mandatory Internship project’ in
the public universities for students of Social
Science Faculty.
• The main purpose of our project will be to
produce skilled and experienced youth
according to the demand of the job market.
• The social evaluation of work will also be
challenged through the project.
6. Cont...
• Initially our target population will be 1000
unemployed fresh graduates from the faculty
of social science of the University of Dhaka.
• The rationale behind choosing this target
group is that presently there is no internship
program available for the students of social
science in Bangladesh.
7. Cont...
• We will execute this plan through creating a
collaboration between the government and
public universities.
• There will no extra cost in implementing this
project because the existing government
infrastructures will be utilized and
remuneration and production will be leveled.
