Introduction
1.1 Introduction
Information technology is considered to be a key factor influencing economic and
social development. Technology development evokes growing opportunities that
raise user demands and the need for innovation. Although the notion of smart wiring

emerging on market that complements this industry. Innovative technologies for
managing households and buildings are causing replacing conventional wiring with
smart installations.

two systems of smart systems KNX, and Raspberry Pi were used in order to obtain

Introduction
Automated control is an essential property of smart home technology
implementations. Basic control functions, such as control of heating, ventilation, air

1.2 Overview
In light of the spread of smart home systems, and if I have a factory and I want to
monitor this factory through my house, I need to install a smart system that works on
communication with the home system.
This paper describes an approach to use the embedded system Raspberry Pi to serve
as a communication gateway between mobile devices and Konnex-Bus (KNX) home
automation systems. The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and the Presence Service
are used to build a system concept on open source and standardized software services.
The concept focuses on the communication, access control and security of that
gateway. This paper manifests the possible components and potential purposes of the
concept. It is shown that small embedded systems like the Pi can provide a simple and
cheap solution to enable ubiquitous Smart Home Control using existing
infrastructures.

1.3 Motivation

1- The main goal of this work is to investigate a KNX-based home automation

The apartment contains a bedroom, a hall, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom
and guest room.
Where we will control the lighting, create lighting scenarios, and control the amount
of lighting in the corridors through sensors that send signals to the devices and control
the air conditioning and refrigeration units.
We will control the curtains and blinds, and we will connect a camera to send signals
to the raspberry to warn or to do something.
We will also control the apartment through a phone that is linked with smart systems,
and we will also work on setting up a screen for control.
