CENTRAL PARK
            INTRODUCTION

Central park is a very extensive park where you can do all types of
things like playing frisbi, seeing animals, rest a little bit… Of
course, above all things, Central Park is a park, so there are plenty
of attractions that focus on physical activities and other fun
pastimes. Two skating rinks, a carousel, a public swimming
pool, baseball fields, tennis courts and other sport attractions are
                    scattered throughout the park.
CENTRAL PARK HISTORY
 The park initially opened in
 1857.
In 1858, Frederick Law Olmsted
and Calvert Vaux won a design
 competition to improve and
 expand the park. Construction
 began the same year, continued
 during the American Civil
 War, and was completed in
 1873.
 Designated a National Historic
Landmark in 1962, the park is
 currently managed by the Central
 Park Conservancy under contract
 with the city government
