CentOS is a community-developed Linux distribution derived from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) sources. It is freely available and aims to provide a freely-redistributable enterprise-class OS while being as close to identical to RHEL as possible without including RHEL's branding or commercial support. CentOS removes all Red Hat branding and logos from RHEL to comply with RHEL's licensing. It is supported by its user community through online forums and mailing lists rather than Red Hat.
