This document discusses the development of online German language courses at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. The targeted student population includes liberal arts and non-liberal arts majors and minors, as well as dual-degree program students. The goals of the project are to develop fully online courses using technology with an emphasis on language skills and cultural awareness, while adopting effective teaching strategies, flexible scheduling, and self-paced learning. Student assessment will be based on Bloom's Taxonomy and include indirect methods like online activities and tests as well as direct methods like speaking assignments and active culture projects. The goals are to maintain the quality of traditional classroom settings and ensure students are successful in fundamental language skills.
