This document contains an activity for students to describe their neighborhood. It includes questions for students to describe their house, how to get from their high school to home, and the name and origin of their neighborhood. The activity also includes matching pictures to descriptions of places and drawing a map of their route from school to home. Students will then share their drawings and try to guess who drew each map. The goal is for students to practice describing locations and directions in their neighborhood.

1. NEIGHBOURHOOD


2. Description:
The students are going to be involved in a certain
number of situations, in which they will be also identifying
and describing the places where they are.

Objective:
Finally, students will be able to describe how to get from
the highschool, Medanos to their home.

What is the name of your neighbourhood, and why it is called that

Why neighborhoods are divided into blocks,and then within these, in

plots? Explain

6. Description 1:
The church is next to the book shop. The bank is between the hotel and the coffee shop.
Description 2:
The post office is between the hospital and the school. The school is behind the movie
theater. The toy shop is opposite the bank and near to the restaurant.
Description 3:
The park is next to the school. The shop is in front to the school. The zebra crossing is
between the shop and the houses.
Description 4:
The bank is near to the park. The school is opposite the park. The railway station is next to
the supermarket. The skating school is opposite the houses.

8. The big Question:
Draw in Paint your neighbourhood, adding the route
you take every day to go from the highschool to your
home. Describe it.
Later on, the students send all the drawing by e-mail
to the Teacher.
Then the Teacher resends the e-mails to all the
students again (but not to the ownwer of the
drawing), so they will have to guess who draw the
given picture.
