What is CATE? CATE stands for Combined Aptitude Test in English In 2009, over 6,000 students took the test for approximately 350 seats About 12 colleges accepted CATE last year The rationale is to ensure that students who enter this course are good with the language. Eligibility Criteria • The candidate should have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination of CBSE or any other examination considered equivalent with a minimum 60 per cent aggregate in the best four subjects • Minimum score of 60 per cent in English (Core or Functional)
