The ear has four main parts that work together to receive sound waves and transmit information to the brain for processing. Sound waves enter the ear through the auditory canal and vibrate the eardrum. These vibrations are converted into electrical signals by tiny hairs in the cochlea. The signals then travel through the Eustachian tube to the brain for analysis and interpretation of what was heard.
