2. Overview
Videocon is an award winning DTH service provider of India, with over 20000+
employees and offers almost 600+ channels to 8 Crore consumers across
different cities and states. Its advanced state of art technology and versatile
functionality have enabled Videocon to acquire consumers from different
linguistic backgrounds.
To enhance its reach across each and every household in India, the client
engaged with Affle AppStudioz. This was done with an objective to offer a
diverse platform to its customers so that they can enjoy quality services
seamlessly without any interruptions. Hence, came along an app that was
specifically designed to cater to a huge variety of audiences on mobile.
3. The Challenge
To develop a mobile App that could replace the TV remote was not a simple task and there were several challenges
that needed expert supervision. However, with the help of our highly skilled and visionary team of developers, Affle
AppStudioz was able to deliver a quality app that stands as a fine example of advanced technology.

5. Our Approach
Market Research & Analysis
As the target was PAN-India and the client wanted an app that helps the user to easily manage a TV, we adopted a holistic market
research based on the targeted users.
Mind Map
Keeping in mind the targeted users, a mind map was created before the initiation of the project. This led to the quick identification
and understanding of the desirable features for the App to ensure that it works like a remote and renders a true feeling of a remote
control through a mobile device.
Wireframes
In this stage, we examined the individual interference elements to arrive at a format for getting these elements together such that
they form the actual screen for the user to interact. As a result of our thorough and methodical approach, Affle Appstudioz was able
to present a unique App with a groundbreaking user experience. This was achieved through a series of experiments through various
methods like allowing a user to- easily navigate, listen to music via bluetooth, get social media notifications directly on the screen and
play games easily via gamepad.

7. Our team of creative nerds conducted a series of research workshops
with illustrators, visualizers, UI specialist & unity experts to gather an
understanding of the targeted users on the basis of age groups, cities
and language. Thereafter, they came up with a number of designs
suggestions. After carefully considering a number of options we
decided that a flat background with 3D icons characterising the
buttons should go on the design end. This will enable the user to
actually get the feel the functionality of a remote & use it in the
form of a mobile.

8. When the client came to Affle AppStudioz, they wanted an app that serves 8 crore users across India and hence, the
development was carried out on all the three platforms iOS, android & windows. Keeping in view the targeted audi-
ence, segmentation process was initiated on the backend panel that indirectly helped in audience intelligence.

9. With a target of covering around 100 million users through this app,
the UAT was carried out among users of different age groups across
different states in India. Initially, our UAT team conducted a pilot launch
among 200 users according to defined categories. This was followed by
increasing the sample size to 500 and then, 5000. In fact, this proved to
be one of the biggest testing campaigns that was ever run by Affle
AppStudioz. At the same time, another team of engineers worked upon
running an integration testing program to validate all the functional
aspects, performance and reliability of the major design items. After
going through all these processes, the App was thoroughly tested for
bugs and was later approved for release.
