7. Sign & Symptoms
Symptoms include:
• Angina
• Rapid heartbeat
• Shortness of breath
Sometimes symptoms are unnoticeable until a
heart attack or heart failure occurs.

8. Exercise guidelines for CAD
1st! Upper HR range must be set by doctor
or certified exercise physiologist. Do not use
standard formulas.
General FITT. Low intensity CV (40-75%),
20-30min,3-5 days/week.
Strength training can start AFTER >3
months of asymptomatic cardio training.

*Stationary cycling

*Rowing.
Large muscle group actives are best.

10. Contraindicated Exercises
• Heavy lifting
• Performing a Valsalva (we miss you Elvis)
• Non-seated/standing exercises.
• High intensity CV
• Plyometric exercises
• Stage II & III of Cardio Respiratory training
