The Royal Scottish National Orchestra collaborated with other National Performing Arts Companies of Scotland to create an online social media presence. They realized individually they did not have the resources to fully utilize digital technologies, but together they could significantly increase public engagement. After discussions and planning, they decided to start with a basic social media presence as the first phase, with the goal of a more fully realized digital vision in the future. Some challenges they needed to address included maintaining individual company identities while collaborating and agreeing on target audiences and content approaches.
