Cars
1.
2. The first car – 1981 Chevy Monte Carlo. Was ugly brown and had the smallest V6 that I have ever seen. A lot of morning rides to school, my first speeding ticket and the start of driving the dirt roads after school. Tackett and I actually jumped this car off/over Troll Bridge…
3. No, this is not the correct color, but do you know how hard it is to find a pic of a 1972 Galaxie 500 Painted Kelly Green?!?! You could fit a keg, or 2, upright in the trunk and close it, and it would seat 8 comfortably. This car had more hours/miles on the dirt roads than any of my other vehicles. Which means that many of you were there for the ride. It would make the drive past the Civil Defense building, over the tracks and down to the river. Oddly enough it had a twin somewhere close to Woodbine Kansas. Don’t forget the Grateful Dead stickers and the dual ash trays in the front dash. That is luxury and style…
4. College car. My 1990 Ford probe. Mine didn’t have the ground effects or the gay wheel covers, but that car was tough. It was airborne more than once, it survived Ark City and I have ridden on top of it at over 60 mph hanging on for dear life. Woody and I ripped out the interior, put in new speakers and somehow managed to get the stupid thing back together. At least that is what I think happened, when I woke up, I had new speakers…
5. Stupid, stupid, stupid… I sold this car. My 1972 Buick Skylark. I loved this car. It was really slow and looked really fast. Very clean and never had a problem with it. Once again, let me repeat that, stupid.
6. Mine was not an extended cab. What can I say? It was a 1994 Chevy Silverado. That about wraps it up.
7. It was old, it was clean, it was a bike… My 1984 Magna. This bike did NOT turn a lot of heads, it was not fast, and I looked like a douche on it because I was too tall. But, it served its purpose. Lot of weekend rides out of Wichita.
8. This car was small, loud and pretty quick for a little Mazda. It’s my 2002 Protégé5. This car took a severe beating. I got it brand new and it was picked up on a flat bed at 28k miles to have the entire transmission and clutch replaced. Note to self: Keep it under 110 when at Tablerock. Thanks for the Indy style driving JD!!!
9. 1995 Jeep Cherokee. F*** this car!!! It was probably the most reliable and sturdy car I ever owned. Which would explain why it survived after I rear ended somebody, hit a dear, and rolled it all within 4 months of each other. Solidarity baby. Flipped it back over and kept driving it. Bad luck, got rid of it.
10. Good truck. 2004 Chevy Silverado. Mine was not 4x4 or a 2500. But it was green. Really that’s is about it. Didn’t own it very long. It was comfortable and had lots of cool toys. Afterthought: I was ridin’ like a cholo…
11. 2005 Dodge Magnum. I bought this on a whim. Not a Dodge fan but I needed a car and it was in my price range. I have grown to love it. It’s the only “car” I have ever owned that I fit in comfortably. It drives ok and I feel sometimes like I am driving a hearse. Plus I have my golf clubs, a tool box, car cleaning supplies, Hofa’s body, and a spare tire in the back. It’s roomy…
