This report examines youth engagement in peacebuilding efforts in the Caribbean region. It provides background on the youth, peace and security agenda and analyzes case studies of youth programs and initiatives in Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, and Saint Lucia. Key challenges to youth peacebuilding identified include high youth unemployment, lack of access to quality education, and youth being ignored in decision-making. The report concludes with recommendations for UNDP and other organizations to better support Caribbean youth, such as through social inclusion programs, increased funding, locally driven projects, and bringing youth voices to the forefront.
