3. Carboxymethycellulose
Carboxymethylcellulose, an eye lubricant known as artificial tears
It works similarly to natural tears and provides temporary relief from
burning and discomfort due to the eye's dryness by maintaining proper
lubrication of the eyes and acting as a protectant against further
irritation.
4. Mechanism of action
binds to the surface of corneal epithelial cells via its glucopyranose
subunits binding to glucose receptors GLUT-1
The residence time of carboxymethylcellulose bound to corneal cells is
approximately 2 hours as indicated by a short-term binding assay
Binding to the matrix proteins stimulated corneal epithelial cell
attachment, migration, and re-epithelialization of corneal wounds

9. How to use Refresh Tears Drops
For drops place the dropper directly over the eye and squeeze out 1 or
2 drops as needed.
Look down and gently close your eye for 1 or 2 minutes.
Place one finger at the corner of the eye near the nose and apply
gentle pressure.
This will prevent the medication from draining away from the eye.
