The students were split into Blue and Orange teams to create imaginary communities as part of a school inquiry project. The Blue team created their own language, history, education system, celebrations, rituals, and assigned roles to members. They declared the Oranges as enemies. When the Orange leader died, the Oranges had to either join the Blues or become refugees. Some Blues felt powerful but also shameful for taking everything from the Oranges, while others felt sad or relieved the fighting could stop.

2. On the second week of term 3 as part of our Inquiry “It’s Not An Even Playing Field” we got split into two teams the Blue team and the Orange team. We had to dress up in our colors there were some wacky costumes and hair styles. We had to make up our own community. With a leader, laws, greetings, education, celebrations, rituals and food. INTRO!

Once we made all of these our teacher, Mrs Ford told everyone that the Oranges team Leader had died So the Orange team had a choice to either join the Blue team and follow all of the Blues Laws, Education etc… or to leave orange land forever and could only take what they could carry. The Oranges chose to leave their country and therefore they became refugees.

HOW WE FEEL! *Powerful and in control – nice for me but not for others *I felt shameful – because I took away everything, and I didn’t like that. *Sad – and I wanted to join their team to see how it felt. * Happy – because we got more land but then I felt sad for them. *Awesome – took over their weapons land etc *Angry – because they didn’t want to join us *Relieved that we could stop fighting
