The students were split into Blue and Orange teams to create imaginary communities as part of a school inquiry project. The Blue team created their own language, history, education system, celebrations, rituals, and assigned roles to members. They declared the Oranges as enemies. When the Orange leader died, the Oranges had to either join the Blues or become refugees. Some Blues felt powerful but also shameful for taking everything from the Oranges, while others felt sad or relieved the fighting could stop.
