4th OpenAIRE Workshop - Legal and Sustainability Issues for Open Access Infrastructures
Nov. Vilnius
Perspectives, Ideas, success and challenges of sustainability models
DARIAH - Ingrida Vosyliūtė, Project manager, Vilnius University Faculty of Communication
In this talk, we present the research around “Cryptocurrency and blockchain systems”. In particular, we analyse, three different sources of data originating from (i) blockchains, (ii) exchange office, and (iii) news data.
In the first part, we study the possibility of inferring early warning indicators for periods of extreme bitcoin price volatility using features obtained from the non-negative decomposition of Bitcoin daily transaction graphs.
In the second part, we show the temporal mixture models capable of adaptively exploiting both volatility history and order book features.
Our temporal mixture model enables to decipher time-varying effect of order book features on the volatility.
In the last part, we focus on cryptocurrency news. In order to track popular news in real-time, we (a) match news from the web with tweets from social media,(b) track their intraday tweet activity and (c) explore different machine learning models for predicting the number of article mentions on Twitter after its publication.

Abstract: Massively open online courses (MOOCs) are one of most recent educational technology development that have become a highly debated issue, polarized among proponents, boosters, skeptics, and resistants. To understand the nature of such evolving technology concepts, the typical methods and techniques in current literature result in the production of systematic literature reviews, case studies, and theoretical or conceptual frameworks. This work-in-progress paper explores the controversies about MOOCs by adopting the recently developed method “cartography of controversies” from the science and technology studies (STS) discipline. The method guides the application of actor network theory (ANT). Online digital media and tools (namely, Scopus, ScienceScape, Google trends, OpenHeatMap, NodeXL, Gephi, Facebook, Twitter) are used for data collection and analysis. The study uses both qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques to highlight the statements, literatures, actors, cosmoses or general concepts involved in the controversy. The paper propounds the adoption of the method in the field of education and educational technology and proposes through demonstration in this article that such investigations can be reported as a genre of the scholarly article.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.
