7. AmeriCorps in Kentucky
The 13 different AmeriCorps programs operating in Kentucky tutor kids who
are behind in school, help domestic violence survivors achieve financial
stability, provide independent living services to low income seniors, and
address other critical needs in the Commonwealth.

12. Member Benefits
• Taxable living allowance of $12,100, divided into equal
bi-monthly payments
• Health insurance, unless waived
• Workers Compensation coverage
• Education award of $5,550 upon successful completion
of the program
13. Member Requirements
• Serve at least 1700 hours
over the course of one
year. This time is spent
mostly on direct service
activities at the
Member’s Service Site.
• Attend all required Build
Corps training events.
• Plan and conduct Build
Corps service projects.

15. Build Corps Service Projects
• All Build Corps Members will work with other Members in
their region to plan and implement disaster preparedness
trainings with low income community members.
• Build Corps Members will also participate in other special
service activities throughout the year, such as a pre-
Thanksgiving food drive, Stand Downs, and MLK Day
service projects.
