2. THE COMMUNITY FELLOWS PROGRAM, led by Adelphi’s Center for
Career Development, provides an opportunity for Adelphi students to explore
and enhance their professional goals and career objectives. This highly
competitive, and often life-changing, program offers paid summer internships to
students in all majors to gain valuable experiences in the nonprofit sector.
Through the support of our donors and the participation of numerous
employers, Adelphi students have the opportunity to gain on-the-hunt work
experience in their chosen field while making a difference in their community.
This signature program highlights Adelphi’s dedication to service within the
nonprofit sector and its commitment to addressing regional needs and creating
experiential learning opportunities for its students.
Participation doubled in the first two years of the program and participants
have often been hired by the nonprofits part time upon the program’s
completion.
